PC does not turn on ?
Hello Everyone
I purchased an Asus B550M Plus Gaming WiFi motherboard three years ago. Last year, the system would occasionally turn on and sometimes fail to start. At that time, I attempted various fixes like updating the BIOS, swapping out the power supply, etc., but the issue persisted. I haven’t used it for a while. I rebuilt the system and repeatedly powered it on and off without any issues. I also installed benchmark tools such as Prime95 and Cinebench, and Windows 11 along with its drivers worked correctly.
Recently, after turning off the system, it didn’t power back on. I removed the motherboard from the case and followed these steps, but the system still wouldn’t start. Only the RGB lights on the side of the board were visible.
I tried the following:
1. Swapping the power supply.
2. Taking out the GPU, M.2 SSDs, RAM, and disconnecting all other peripherals (even CPU and RAM).
3. Installing the latest BIOS version (3607) and some older versions.
Regarding BIOS updates:
I used a USB flash drive to install the newest BIOS version. I followed the instructions in the Asus guide on YouTube. I created a FAT32-formatted USB drive, copied the BIOS file onto it, and connected it to the power supply. After pressing the FlashBios button, the green LED started blinking. After a few minutes, it stopped, indicating the process ended.
System specifications:
- MBD: Asus TUF Gaming B550M Plus WiFi
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5600x
- GPU: Asus GT710 2GB
- RAM: Vengeance RGB 16GB DDR4 3200MHZ
- PSU: Corsair CX650M
- SSDs: Samsung 980 Pro and 980
For about two years, the power supply was connected to unstable city electricity. Replacing it didn’t resolve the problem. Perhaps the motherboard got damaged during that time. Now we have a UPS and a stabilizer; the PSU is connected to it.
My concern is whether my issue is related to the motherboard, CPU, or something else?
Best regards
It might be anything, such as a start button or switch, meaning you need to check each part individually.
