I’ve been experiencing problems for some time now. When trying to play RDR2 or Atomic Heart, my PC frequently crashes—audio glitches, black screen, fans running even when it shouldn’t. Other games like GTA V, RE8, AC, Witcher, and Plague Tale work perfectly fine.
During stress tests (GPU and CPU), nothing failed. 3Dmark results are above average. Memory passed testing, but crashes occur even when the system is in low power mode. Both GPU and CPU are operating at normal temperatures. The GPU uses two separate 8-pin connectors and has no split.
I’ve cleaned up the Windows installation, confirmed there are no corrupt files, and all SSDs are at 96% health with speeds matching their ratings. The power plan is set to high performance, and I haven’t used any overclocking or UV settings. The BIOS is up to date.
I’ve reinstalled drivers, tried a driver-only install, and even used AMD Adrenaline. Still, the crashes persist. I’ve already replaced the GPU and received a new one, but it still fails.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

which rx6800 model is this? does it include a bios switch? flip it to the other side while the system is off and attempt to play again.
while updating the amd.com driver, did you enable the freh install option?

is the bios version 7e26v1k4 on the motherboard?

what resolution and detail level were you using in rdr2?
have you reinstalled it yet and tested it with default settings?
Hello, the GPU is from XFX but I'm not sure which one and haven't switched the BIOS switch yet. I can't use the splitter because I don't have one. I'm using the latest "stable" version 7E26v1J. I've reset the BIOS settings and cleared the CMOS battery. The PSU is about one and a half years old. RDRP crashes only when using the highest settings, but it didn't crash when I lowered everything to low resolution. It might be related to the PSU? I also tried stress testing the PSU with OCCT, which put both CPU and GPU at full load without crashing, but that's not the same as a game where power spikes occur.
mentioned using two PCIe cables but suggested using one with two connectors instead. ran beta bios update; possible game settings might not work with your GPU either—test other in-game settings to identify the issue. consider switching PSU brand and model.
