Hey everyone, I noticed my PC frequently crashes while gaming. I ran AIDA64 and checked stability tests. Everything seemed normal until stressing the FPU and cache, which triggered the crash. Since I didn’t manually overclock the CPU, I disabled the Intel Boost feature and set a manual clock to 4GHz. It worked fine then, but today it crashed again. I reinstalled Windows thinking some drivers might be faulty, but that didn’t help. My system has been stable for about four months with the same hardware. Here are the specs: motherboard Z390 AORUS ELITE (v10a), CPU Intel Core i7-9700K 3.60GHz, GPU Asus Dual GeForce RTX 2080 EVO OC, PSU Corsair RMx White Series, RAM modules Kingston HperX and Corsair Vengance. Adjust turbo boost settings carefully. If your RAM speeds vary, the system defaults to the lowest rated speed—currently 2133MHz. Mixing in higher speeds like 2400MHz can cause instability. Consider reverting to base speeds and test with a single 2400MHz stick. Use Event Viewer or Windows Logs to investigate crashes. Check for blue screens or shutdowns during gaming. Monitor fan noise; overheating may be the culprit. If issues persist, try borrowing another GPU to rule out hardware faults. Good luck!

Great, thanks! I ran some performance checks on the GPU and everything seems stable. I’ll follow your advice for RAM and will keep an eye on the FPU and CPU cache under load. Also, it’s been this consistent for about four months with the same setup.

Using XMP keeps performance at the lowest rated level, meaning everything stays at 2133. Stress tests or real gameplay? I’ve found more stable overclocks when testing actual games. You’re not overclocking, right? Is this causing a BSOD or just a shutdown?

System hang means the computer stops working and doesn’t respond for a while. BSOD stands for Blue Screen of Death, which is the error screen that appears when something goes wrong with the system.

The blue screen isn't happening—it's just my system. I can't move the mouse or use the PC.

Yeah, BSOD happens. It means the system froze. Have you tried restarting it or checking for updates?

No, that's not correct. It wasn't until after I reduced the CPU clock speed that the USB from the motherboard stopped working, along with the mouse, headset, and keyboard.
