System uses Ryzen 5 5600 with MSI B450M Mortar, paired with an RX 580 8GB. FOCUS 550 GC (SSR-550FC) is installed, and the system runs Windows 10 Pro version 22H2 (build 19045.3803). The PC is around 6-7 years old. Corsair 2x8GB 3000MHZ RAM is present. The main drive is a 250GB WD Black SN750 with 22GB free space out of 232GB. I recently upgraded the CPU from a Ryzen 3 2200G, though that might be relevant.

Over the past week, my PC has experienced crashes during games—brief blue screens followed by immediate restarts. Whenever I launch a game, the same issue recurs. Other applications like browsers, Discord, and antivirus are functioning normally. I attempted a fix by reinstalling the GPU power connector using an unused 8-PIN port, but it only resolved the problem temporarily. The issue resurfaced shortly after.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the graphics driver via DDU, yet the problem persists. Stress testing the GPU with FurMark at 1080p 4xMSAA showed no issues—GPU drew 144W, temperatures stayed below 70°C, and load was consistently at 100%. No crashes or blue screens occurred during testing. A system file check also didn’t help.

It seems the problem might be related to the power supply unit (PSU), as stress tests worked without triggering the issue. I’d appreciate any advice or analysis on possible fixes, or if a component is failing.

I recently upgraded the CPU to a Ryzen 3 2200G, if that matters
What BIOS version do you have installed on your motherboard?
Seasonic 550W 80+ Gold
Seasonic is the name of the power supply brand, while 550W refers to the unit's claimed power output. Could you tell me the model number and its age?

I performed stress testing using FurMark at 1080p with 4xMSAA. The GPU operated smoothly, drawing 144W with temperatures staying below 70°C and maintaining a full load. There were no crashes or blue screens.

Switched to a spare PSU from a friend, and it is now functioning properly. The original PSU was failing.
