Since I upgraded my Intel i5 9400f to the i7 9700k, I encountered issues where my monitors stopped responding and some USB devices failed to work. It seems the problem likely comes from the motherboard itself. I changed the BIOS and downgraded it, but nothing resolved it. I reinstalled the drivers without success. Could there be a way to fix this without replacing the motherboard? I have an MSI B365M and wondered if simply plugging and unplugging it would help.
B365 isn't meant to handle everything like an i7, but it should still function. Have you checked if reinstalling Windows helped?
It makes sense if the BIOS version didn't support the CPU. Have you looked on the motherboard page to confirm it actually does? With the recovery media, it seems like something went wrong. I’d recommend creating a backup (you probably already have one) and discarding your full Windows setup, then starting fresh.
