hello,
i currently use:
ryzen 7 3800x
rtx 2070 super
16gb 3200mhz
msi x470 gaming pro
240mhz monitor full hd

since the last few years i’ve mostly played on console, i’m unsure how to set up my system for the best game performance. i play games like destiny 2, overwatch, division 2, metro, etc.
my questions are:
what monitor configuration would work best for higher mhz?
would it perform better without ultra settings and full hd?
is there a maximum fps limit in those titles?
should vsync be enabled?
thanks!

When operating at 100 + FPS, performance should feel exceptionally fluid. Consider disabling freesync and maintaining the monitor at 240Hz.

A 240 hz monitor is more than enough for professional gamers, designed to highlight specs rather than serve practical needs. Beyond a 144 hz display, improvements are minimal. Set the refresh rate to the monitor's default, run the games, and don't stress over other adjustments—your card can handle any title. You might not reach 240 fps in every game, but unless you notice strange stuttering or screen tearing, it's fine. Start with the games and observe; only then should you tweak settings.

i've been testing the games for almost a month now, but performance isn't as smooth as I expected. it doesn't seem to be an optimization issue. currently:
in windows i've adjusted the monitor to 144 hertz and enabled freesync on
the latest graphics driver
overwatch: fullscreen, ultra, res 1920 x 1080 and 144 hertz, vsync off and fps is display based - game runs at 145-155 fps.
my concern is: should i keep it at 240, with the same game settings, without a fps cap when vsync is on? or something like this?
i know vsync aligns the frame rate with the monitor. the question applies generally to all games, not just ow.
