I’m new to this community, and most people might just brush me off; but I’m reaching out for support. My goal is to get the final chapter of the Metal Gear series onto PC. I can’t do it alone—I’m just a regular guy who grew up playing these games, has a family, and two kids, and I genuinely care about this project. It’s the last installment in the Metal Gear lineup, and I’m hoping Kojima will push for a PC release so we can enjoy it without limits. He mentioned it could be done with the existing FOX engine, which already works on PC, and he’s been asking for strong community support, like what we saw with the Dark Souls campaign.
My biggest challenge is being just one person trying to make this happen. I need encouragement from anyone who reads this and helps. Even if you don’t sign, spreading the word or telling friends could make a difference. If you’re interested in seeing a video from Linus about this, let me know—I’d really appreciate it.
Please keep this in mind: I’m hoping this post isn’t flagged as spam and that I’m not ignored again. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I’ll check back later to see if anything changes.
You're being too intense for this discussion. The forum isn't large enough to push the petition high enough. It's likely to end up on PC. There will probably be another Metal Gear game—Kojima has mentioned that every Metal Gear title would be his final one, but as long as they profit, he'll keep making them.
He has repeatedly stated he won’t release MGS5 to PC unless there’s strong interest, as I mentioned he expects significant public pressure. The forum discussion seems limited—any ideas you have?
That's Ground Zeroes, not MGSV 1). MGS Ground Zeroes serves as the introduction to MGSV The Phantom Pain. It's not just a quick release; it's solid content. My brother got it on PS4 and I watched it on Twitch—really impressive. Jima mentioned he made PC versions originally, emphasizing his desire to release them independently. He hopes Konami will support this move, especially since he holds a position within the company. Rumors suggest a console launch followed by a PC release, which makes sense. I planned to purchase a PS4 copy at launch and get the PC version later. Same approach I took with MGR.
This thread has been around for about four months. Many folks complained about the game, not realizing they were talking about the $30 demo version. I made some mistakes based on those assumptions. The actual game is quite impressive, and Revengeance was a great pick as well—I got it during last summer's sale.
I hope you're not making a joke, since Revengeance is actually a solid title. It would probably rank right after number 4 on my own list, but I think they match up fairly well overall. Regarding the subject, I’m unlikely to play MGSV unless it’s released for PC; instead, I’d probably just watch the cutscenes on YouTube, similar to how I did with all the Assassin's Creed titles. I realized the gameplay was dull and the storyline was weak after a while. I also stopped playing MGS4 around the middle because it was so monotonous that watching it as a movie felt better.
It wasn't directed by Kojima or produced by his studio, which was a deterrent for me. I'm sure the gameplay is enjoyable, but honestly I never really connected with it. Still, MGSV is the only reason I'm investing in a PS4. If it ever comes to PC later, I'll likely buy that too.
It faced a lot of challenges during its creation, which is evident. Still, the game remains impressive and enjoyable most of the time. The narrative occasionally feels shaky, but overall it’s engaging. I think MGS 4 and some other story elements could have been improved, yet they still resonate with me. The standout feature of MGR is its zan-datsu system—gain health by defeating enemies, letting you stay focused without constant worry. That mechanic definitely adds a unique twist. If I had the budget, I’d definitely get a PS4 and set it up somewhere, but honestly, I’m not that eager to commit to a console just for one game. While Kingdom Hearts could have been a solid series if handled well, Nomura’s current direction has made it feel very flawed. It raises concerns about FFXV. Despite the flaws, the MGSV elements we’ve seen so far show promise and might become a standout title. Hopefully they deliver on their potential.
