Hey there, we recently improved our internet connection from 200 to 400 Mbps, but my PC isn’t hitting the full speed and seems stuck at around 190 Mbps (per Speedtest.net) or 220 Mbps (per Fast.com). Another machine connected with the same Ethernet cable works perfectly at 400 Mbps, though its upload speed stays at 50 Mbps. I’m puzzled as to why this happens. The PC running into trouble uses an older i5 4570 processor with a Gigabyte B85M-D3H board and no VPN active. I’ve tried updating the network drivers, but nothing changed. There’s also no Windows update available. It’s really frustrating since everything functions smoothly on the other machine. Best!

Do you possess the Gigabyte Lan Optimizer - crapshit? That seems likely to be the issue.

No, I didn't. I had hamachi set up before but took it out a few hours ago without affecting anything.

Search for necessary lan drivers and upgrade your motherboard's bios. All required files and updates are available on the gigabytes support site for your specific board.

"Sorry," every driver is current, which isn't the issue either.

You might try checking the system logs and performance metrics to spot patterns. If the problem persists, consider restarting components or consulting technical support for deeper analysis.

The speed test runs via a specific method, and CPU usage is monitored throughout the process.
