Is this a gaming PC? You can upgrade to a better PSU and choose a more suitable wattage to save some money.
You have two SSDs for redundancy and performance. A single NVME drive wouldn’t suffice, and you’d want a better power supply. Avoiding an AIO and the stock unit is smart, as is investing in a solid air cooler.
I am probably not understanding this properly, but.... I see where Ryzen 5, 7, 9 series processors are dual channel memory. So using 4 dims is not optimal. As per my understanding using a 2x16 would be a better kit than a 4x8 for 32 GB or memory. Initially, I'd switch to a different power source. You don't require 850 W, and at $110, there are higher-quality PSUs available. It's unlikely you should be purchasing 80+ Bronze units for such a price. Instead, I might consider the Corsair RM 2019 650 W PSU: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/WxL48d/...9020194-na. Regarding cooling solutions, I concur with @dizmo. Having run a Ryzen processor with its built-in cooler, I can confirm that stock coolers, though superior to Intel's, aren't a replacement for aftermarket options. Additionally, a solid air cooler would be significantly more affordable than an AI cooling solution. Of course, they might be bulkier, but for budget-conscious buyers, they offer better value. In terms of performance, four DIMMs are acceptable; it will remain dual-channel, but each channel will house two DIMMs rather than one.
Confirm setup with two or four chips, not just a single chip. Jayztwocents demonstrated FPS drops with one memory DIMM or two sticks, and mentioned a 4 stick setup in the video. Thanks for the correction.
The focus isn't on the total count of chips or DIMMs, but rather on the number of available channels. When aiming for dual channel, both channels must share the same capacity. For a 16 GB drive, allocate 8 GB to one channel and 8 GB to another. Using two or four identical DIMMs works well, though it's not mandatory. If you stick to exactly two modules with differing capacities (like 4 GB and 8 GB), performance will drop noticeably. Technically, three DIMMs can support dual channel—such as one 8 GB and two 4 GB modules—but it's not necessary. Avoid mixing modules from different kits due to compatibility issues; always purchase RAM in sets designed for together operation. It's generally wise to use 2 or 4 modules, as most systems are built for those configurations. Three modules aren't ideal, and a single module won't support dual channel. Some boards offer flexible modes, but don't depend on them.
