PC build Help
Hi,
I'm assembling a PC and only have a power supply to pick from. If anyone can advise which one suits my build best, focusing on the Seasonic vertex GX 1200 or Silverstone HELA 1200R models. My setup includes: Intel core I9 13900KS, Z790 Aorus master, RTX 4090 AOURUS MASTER, 4x16 Ddr5 7600mhz Teamgroup, T700 crucial, Samsung 990 pro, and Deepcool LT720. TNX, this is my dream PC and I invest a lot in it.
It depends on your preferences. The Silverstone offers superior performance according to Aris reviews, while the Seasonic provides quieter operation. Both deliver strong performance, so choose based on your needs: if noise matters, pick the Seasonic; if you prefer better performance for headphone use or louder settings, go with the Silverstone. Alternatively, consider cost—both are solid power supplies and neither is a clear disadvantage.

Sure, I can clarify the performance details of Silverstone and address your questions about seeking advice. Let me know if you need further assistance.
I suggest opting for a 2X32 GB configuration if you require 64GB of memory. Adding four sticks increases pressure on the memory controller, and it's unlikely you'll achieve stable performance with just four sticks at that speed, let alone two.
I understand. 2 x32GB would be a better choice and more likely to deliver the claimed performance. With four DIMMs you’ll likely need some adjustments, and even then you might not hit the advertised speed, though it should be simpler on this Intel setup compared to a Ryzen system.
As discussed, both power supplies are excellent. Aris appears to think the CWT platform on Silverstone and a few other models is slightly better. If he believes this, it makes sense since he rarely makes mistakes about power supplies. All the details are covered in the reviews. If you're unsure what you're reading, check the bullet points at the end of each review. I’d likely choose Seasonic, but I wouldn’t rule out Silverstone if it were cheaper.
Then I would send them back and purchase a 64GB kit with just two DIMMs. I mean, you can test them to check if they handle XMP speeds, and they might work well, but it will definitely put more strain on the memory controller, possibly leading to stability issues. If returning isn't possible, you'll have to figure it out another way.
it's from amazon and i purchased it four months ago. And thank you, i'll choose the silverstone hela 1200r because it's cheaper (236.89$). compared to the seasonal model which is 289.99$.
Well, that's unfortunate, but that's the situation. It seems you'll need to rely on luck to see if it functions at the advertised XMP speed and timing, otherwise we can attempt to adjust the settings to make it work. A little more effort might be necessary, depending on the outcome.
