I received the Z5 Royal by mistake, thinking it was for AMD EXPO, but it only works with Intel XMP 3.0. Should I send it back or is it fine with my Aorus Elite X870 Wifi7? Also, on the Aorus Elite X870 QVL I didn’t see RAM support listed, yet the specs say otherwise. On the other hand, the specification mentions AMD X870 and supports DDR5 modules. Is this still compatible? I’m really new to this stuff and a bit confused.

They should be fine, XMP works fine on AMD assuming the XMP spec isn't something ridiculous. Whats the exact memory model anyway?

It's a g.SKILL trident Z5 Royal 6400MGHZ CL 30, yet I usually adjust it to 6000 CL30.

6400Mhz could be compatible with your CPU, but I’d verify its impact on your fabric-clock ratio.

This approach is effective since you're already targeting 6000 CL30; purchasing a complete kit upfront could save money in the long run.
