Quick (maybe stupid) question. Is this ok for this metal tab to not touch the actual port? I bended it before and i know its supposed to ground but can it be a potentially big deal?

I'm really frustrated by these items; I stop using them right away before installing the IO shield. Once they're inside the port, they just get stuck and I only notice it when everything is tightened. They don't do any real job.
