Remembering those unusual setups? ASRock > K8 Combo-Z ASRock > 939Dual-SATA2
Inquiries about these two... intriguing boards:
First board (dual socket board):
1. Which two sockets are those?
2. Is it possible to run two CPUs simultaneously?
3. Does it use DDR2 or DDR3?
Second board (weird slot board):
1. What slots does it feature? I see PCI, PCIe, and AGP (the one on top). What about the brown one?
2. Are there any sources where you might locate this board?
The solutions are detailed in the links above each image. Running two CPUs simultaneously isn't possible due to jumper configurations needed for switching. The VRM isn't sufficient for dual CPU+RAM setups since both require DDR1. The chipset accommodated this design. AGP slots are dark brown/black, while the yellow slot is designated for CPU upgrade cards. You can purchase a card with compatible CPU socket and memory, along with the VRM, to upgrade from socket 939 to AM2 which uses DDR2. They also supported upgrades to socket 462 into 754 cards: https://www.asrock.com/mb/spec/product.a...=754Bridge and from 754 to 939 cards: https://www.asrock.com/mb/spec/product.asp?Model=939CPU Board These boards were produced in limited numbers and aren't widely available, making them appealing mainly to collectors.
