This is precisely my response to your i5 suggestion. We actually share the same view. While an i5 will still outperform an i3, we both understand that!
Of course, a Z-series board offers memory overclocking, but Intel isn't as responsive to high memory speeds compared to AMD. Moreover, the 10th generation i3 and i5 Intel CPUs are compatible with DDR4-2666, which is acceptable.
Additionally, we're considering ready-made systems here. This usually means you'll find the most affordable motherboard available—lucky if you even have four RAM slots. The Z-series will likely be difficult to find unless you're purchasing from a specialized builder that lets you choose or customize parts, especially considering the significant cost of the motherboard itself (it can represent up to a quarter of your total budget).
