PC broadcasts on screen but nothing appears on the monitor
Yesterday my partner and I were assembling her first PC. The setup included: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, ASUS ROG Strix B550-A Gaming, a low-profile DDR4 3200MHz HYPERX, Crucial P3 SSD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 750W Snow Edition, an ASUS Dual NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti White OC Edition, Cooler Master TD500 MESH White, and ASUS TUF Gaming VG27VH1B. Everything seemed fine at first, but during the BIOS setup nothing appeared on the screen. We spent hours trying to resolve it, even updating the BIOS. Eventually we connected the PC to a TV and everything worked—we saw the BIOS and installed Windows 11 smoothly. When we brought it back to the monitor, the problem persisted: no display and the white VGA light remained lit. We’re sure the monitor functions properly with a laptop, but this issue with recognizing the new system has been frustrating us. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.
We possess the correct data, having thoroughly verified it multiple times.
Same cable or same port as on the TV? Have you tested swapping cables and/or outputs on the graphics card? Are you plugging it into the card instead of the built-in video? What if you connect it to the TV and the monitor simultaneously? Consider changing to another cable, or switching to a different display port or HDMI if you have compatible cables/ports on your monitor. Also, follow the instructions provided by Asus Support here: https://www.asus.com/me-en/support/faq/1012723
We might consider exchanging connections, though the issue is clear: the ASUS TUF Gaming VG27VH1B supports only HDMI and VGA inputs, while the 3060 ti has just one HDMI output. A DP to HDMI adapter could be an option, but it’s uncertain if it would resolve the problem. Regarding cables, we used the same one previously: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07M89...le_o09_s00
Have you checked for GPU driver updates? I’d consider that option, or switch to another HDMI cable.
The cable seems okay at first, but you might want to test another one just to rule out the issue. DP to HDMI cables are easy to find and affordable (depending on what you choose). You can usually buy them online for a reasonable price. If you go to stores like Bestbuy, you’ll likely get a good deal. You could also check if Asus recommended any models in their previous post.
We attempted all the suggested solutions, updated the GPU drivers, and adjusted the Windows projection settings (Windows + P) to ensure a backup. This approach resolved the issue. Please let me know if anyone encounters this problem—it might be useful. Thank you for your feedback!
