PC boots without any reason
PC boots without any reason
Hi everyone. In short, my computer starts on its own.
The settings are as follows:
Model: Asus z-87 pro
Processor: i5 4670k
Graphics: Evga GTX760
Power Supply: Thermaltake 730 SE
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250
Hard Drive: WD Green 2TB
Operating System: Windows 10 (original version) from Win8.1
So far I’ve cleaned the PC, checked for loose cables—nothing found. I reviewed the logs and discovered an error: “The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This could be due to the system stopping, crashing, or losing power unexpectedly.”
From the Help Center it suggests this might happen if I shut down the PC from the power button. That’s what happened after I accidentally pressed and held the power button during a nighttime reboot for the fourth time. I also checked the LAN settings, which are currently disabled for updates.
Not long ago I used an automated overclock in the BIOS, and the boot took more than 10 days after that change.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
PS: Before cleaning and reconnecting all cables, it would turn on 10 minutes after shutdown and take about 8 hours to start up without reason. Thank you!
It seems a failing PSU might be the issue, but what if you disconnect the Ethernet cable after use? Could "wake on LAN" be accidentally enabled? When it starts unexpectedly, are there any unusual processes in Task Manager? I want to ensure no one is remotely accessing your system.
It seems there might be an issue with the power supply unit. Would you like an alternative or could you request one to use for testing?
It seems like the power supply unit might be faulty. Do you have another one available, or should I try borrowing one to check? Right now I’m unable to do that, but I’m considering reinstalling Windows and visiting a nearby repair shop if the issue persists.
It seems a failing PSU might be the issue, but what if you disconnect the Ethernet cable after use? Could it affect performance? Make sure "wake on LAN" is turned off. When it starts unexpectedly, check Task Manager for any unusual processes. I'm trying to eliminate the chance of someone connecting remotely and using your computer.
