So I own a PC and recently my motherboard failed, so I had to replace it. It’s functioning properly now, but I’m having trouble getting it to launch Windows! After posting a logo, it just displays a blinking underscore. Here’s what I’ve tried and what I know:

The hard disk is working correctly, and I also used another SSD, but the issue persists.
I reinstalled Windows, UEFI, BIOS, and still face the same problem. The hard disk is connected via the first SATA port.
What I do understand is that the USB installation stick boots up fine and appears as UEFI. I also installed Windows on the hard disk, plugged it into the USB, and it worked initially, but my adapter is a USB 2.0 and is quite slow—this isn’t really a solution.
The PC would boot once when the USB was connected, then I would boot from the SSD, which worked, but now it doesn’t boot at all.
My BIOS doesn’t support switching between UEFI or Legacy BIOS.
PC Specifications: i5 2400 - GTX 1050 TI - 8 GB DDR3 - 500 watt Unitech PSU - Foxconn P67A/P67A-S motherboard
Any suggestions? I’m really desperate after all these attempts.

that underscore means your bios cant load boot program from your drive
boot from usb stick to get into windows recovery, from recovery options fgo into command line and type in those commands:
bootrec /fixMBR
bootrec /fixBoot
bootrec /rebuildBCD
first one may not work, since you may have uefi, but it shouldnt matter if youre on uefi, other two shouldnt throw any error, unless there is an issue with your windows installation

Yes, reinstalling Windows can resolve the BCD and boot issues.

I completed that now and immediately after startup it prompts to enter the boot drive and press enter or restart, etc.

If you insert the identical USB drive, will it start Windows now? You might have adjusted the BIOS to make the USB the initial boot device during Windows installation, causing it to assume a USB boot is required.

answer for your question: no it doesn't boot into windows, now it boots directly from the usb.
First boot choice in bios is the hard disk.
When i mentioned that my pc only booted into windows after inserting the usb, before re-installing windows, not after a fresh install, I recall having Windows Boot Manager in the boot options. Now it's missing.
The issue is the hard disk was already running windows, and during this problem the first boot still came from the hard disk in bios, so i pressed f7 to open the boot menu and selected the hard disk again, but the same problem persisted.
I also have an ssd that connects via USB 2:0 or sata; I installed windows on it and connected through USB, which worked fine.
