Hello. This situation has been troubling me lately. Whenever I received a new PC, I turned off Windows sign-in at startup. However, a few months ago it reactivated even though it displayed as disabled. The main problem is that the system attempts to log in with blank fields—no email, no password, nothing—wasting my effort and causing mental strain. It keeps showing "wrong user/password" even when I haven’t touched the keyboard. Now I have to manually select an alternative account and enter my PIN or password. (It’s the same name on both accounts, but one is blank. I’m unsure where it came from since only one Microsoft account is linked.) Have others experienced this? If so, what steps did you take to resolve it? My productivity is affected, and I feel like I’m losing focus each day because of this small issue. It happened after a recent update on Windows 10. Thank you for your time; I hope this gives some clarity.
No, yes, no. It does have a pin, but that's not the point. My problem is that it tries to auto sign in with none of the details entered. After it shows it as incorrect, i must go click on another user and input the pin. I used to be able to hit the power button, go make myaelf some coffee and come back to a booted pc, now i have to wait until i get to type in the pin and then i can leave. It's wasted literally about 4 hours of my life already.
If auto sign-in is enabled, you might be the sole user. You can remove other accounts if needed. You can also: power on the PC, grab coffee, enter your PIN, and enjoy a break while it logs in. Consider refreshing Windows 10 first (back up data) before proceeding.
