PC becomes unresponsive after driver updates, then restarts without returning to normal.
Hi, I recently assembled a new computer using parts I had on hand. It features an i5-6500 processor, 12 GB of DDR4 RAM, a Jingsha ITX h110 motherboard, and a 1050 Ti GPU. I’m facing problems with downloading driver updates—each time the process fails, the screen goes black and stays off. I’m uncertain if the PCI slot isn’t providing enough power, especially since the GPU seems to be non-functional. I tried it on my original system and observed the same issue. If anyone has suggestions or solutions, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks. Edited October 3, 2024 by Skamous
This often indicates a dead GPU, right? I've experienced something similar before. Updated the drivers, collected various artifacts and corruption. Removed the drivers, then it functioned properly with the default Windows display drivers that only handle basic screen rendering. Switched to a new GPU, and everything operated perfectly. So yes, that GPU appears to be faulty. If you own another GPU, it would be useful for testing. In fact, the CPU should include built-in graphics.
