My PC would unexpectedly shut down after the Windows logo appeared. I sent it to a repair shop after checking all possible fixes, but they diagnosed it as a corrupted Windows system that resolved the issue temporarily. Now it’s restarting again randomly. I can leave it on for a while, but once I start working, it will restart normally. I’ve replaced the CPU, RAM, GPU, water block, and cables. I also swapped out the RAM and PSU, tried another GPU, and everything is set up correctly this time. The problem seems resolved since the last incident. Here are my PC specs: Ryzen 5 3600x (unoverclocked), water-cooled RTX 2070 Super (unoverclocked), 16GB DDR4 3200MHz, RGB Corsair Aorus X570 Pro, Wi-Fi motherboard, Corsair 750W 80 Plus Bronze PSU, 256GB M.2 SSD, 128GB SSD, and a 500GB HDD with a 2TB drive.

Could the issue stem from a faulty motherboard, power supply unit, or microcontroller? Are RAM slots 2 and 4 available, and is XMP support active?

Windows is installed on this drive. Did you reinstall Windows on the same storage device?

Windows is stored on my 128GB SSD because that's where they installed it during the reinstall. I suspect other drives may also contain old files from previous installations, which I can't completely remove. I'm leaning toward formatting each drive.

The drive is several years old, and it's from a specific brand. You should verify if the drive is damaged; it could be an issue unrelated to Windows.

The M.2, SSD, and Barracuda 2TB drives are all from just a single month ago. The newest model is the 500GB drive. I’ve confirmed that both the M.2 and SSD are functioning properly.

It seems the RAM, PSU, and GPU were swapped. My best guess is the motherboard.

If this happens, I’ll be really frustrated with a broken board that cost me $200 already. Fortunately, I can get a more affordable one to see if the issue is resolved.

Don't assume the motherboard is the issue—it's still rebooting even though it's a brand-new unit.
