Pc and gpu fans adjusting their speed but no improvement after upgrading to 6800xt from 2070
CPU model: 5600x Mobo: b550 Aorus Elite AX v2 RAM: 2 x 16GB DDR4-3600 PSU: 850W Seasonic Focus Old GPU: MSI 2070 New GPU: Phantom Gaming 6800X I installed DDU, updated BIOS, and chipset drivers. Followed troubleshooting steps. Used a single RAM stick initially. Tried a second PSU (860W). Forgot some settings. Placed both GPUs in at once and managed to boot Windows. Device Manager recognized the cards. Updated drivers via Windows Update. Restarted with 2070 and still faced infinite fan cycling. RGB stays on. Need assistance. Update: both GPUs connected simultaneously. Booted into Windows, driver installation succeeded but restarting with 2070 restarts the fan loop. File: 20221130_153644.mp4
Have you considered upgrading to Gen 4? The 6800 XT is a Gen 4 GPU but doesn't take full advantage of its features.
Update gen 4 in the bios and ensure stability after switching back to the new GPU.
Consider resetting the CMOS circuit first. If that doesn't resolve the issue, you may need to explore other solutions.
Consider a VBIOS update for the GPU. This was frequent on the 3080ti, but I haven’t learned much about it for the 6800XT with this problem.
Attempted the update, VBios worked correctly. No adjustments needed when reinstalling.
