I placed this order since it offered the best price for 6000c30 RAM. The box was bent around the bottom of the RAM, but I didn’t see any problems until I noticed the heatsink might be detaching from that RAM. It seems normal, but it looks like something is wrong. Could the packaging have been damaged or is this typical for this type of RAM? I still have two days to return it, and I’m unsure what to do. It’s unclear if this is how it arrived, and the lower RAM is behaving oddly—especially with the Viper logo heatsink popping off randomly each time I try to push it back.

It appears the item is damaged, so I’m replacing it and getting a new one. I’m confident the heat spreader shouldn’t be loose in this condition.

It's unusual for RAM to have the heatspreader detach even without damage. I'd consider returning it for a replacement.

It seems like this feature is likely a decorative element attached to the primary heat sink. Its exact placement beneath the black heat spreader isn’t clear, and it appears to detach from the main surface. There may be internal tension holding it in place.

It seems the item was simply attached, and the pressure that harmed it also broke the adhesive. In any case, I’d prefer a replacement.
