I had to update my admin password a year ago but forgot to record the change. Autologin still functions, so I can still access and operate the computer normally. Since I’m logged in as the administrator, should there be a method to reset the password without remembering the current one? Or would it be better to back up my files and start over? Apologies for asking such a basic question—I’m new to Windows after years on macOS. I mainly use it casually for gaming since building my first PC hackintosh. Thanks!

No, I didn't connect to your MS Accout account.

It seems it should function via the command line, though the exact format wasn't clear. It felt similar to "net user *username* *password*".

Thanks for your responses. It seems my MS account isn't connected properly—just boots into Windows for games. I might switch to Windows entirely if Adobe stops supporting macOS. I plan to try using the command line and see if that helps. If it doesn’t, I’ll have more questions. Appreciate the assistance!

To reset the build for an admin user, open compmgmt.msc, choose System > Local users and groups > Users, right-click Administrator and pick Set Password.
