Pascal GPU on Hackintosh setup
Pascal GPU on Hackintosh setup
Hi there, I'm trying to understand ProRes on Windows better. Since I can't use native encoding in apps like Media Encoder or DaVinci Resolve, I'm looking for solutions. Some suggested installing OSX on a separate SSD in my PC so I can run the same machine for exporting ProRes files. That's not really my preference, but it might work for the client. I'm confused about whether OSX is even compatible with the new Pascal architecture—some say it won't work, others think it should. I'm searching for advice and need help clarifying this.
Also, what operating system should I install? I'm considering alternatives to Cinec and Plin since converting files manually would be time-consuming. I have an Asus X99 A-II with two SSDs, an Intel i7 5820K GPU, ASUS Strix GTX 1070 (Pascal), 32GB DDR4 RAM, and a solid PSU. Any recommendations? Thanks a lot!
