For a general upgrade, I recommend an Avenger. If you're aiming for trading ships, the Gladius is ideal as a pure dogfighter. However, it may struggle against Hornet, making it ineffective in that scenario. I changed my Avenger to Gladius because of its aesthetics and since I have additional ships for trading and different roles. Hope this clears things up. Cheers!
It's not particularly impressive, but it can withstand a lot of damage. In the present situation it might last longer than more delicate vessels and remains maneuverable enough to fire projectiles. The mount on the gimbal reduces the impact significantly.
I’m comfortable launching them with the Aurora and I realize flying it isn’t my strongest skill. While taking a hit would be possible, you’d need to stay focused—missiles can hit the face, but energy weapons aren’t very useful unless you manage to keep them accurate.
