I'm trying to contact the Toms family for some information. I've used PCPartsPicker and it's a solid site. I discovered Pangoly.com, which has a small advantage over PCPartsPicker. Pangoly uses OEM Qualified Vendor Lists for RAM. Anyone know of other sites that use QVL lists for RAM compatibility?

None that I am aware of. If Pangoly relies solely on QVL lists, then a significant number of memory kits that would function well on any board are being omitted. QVL lists provide only a minimal representation of viable options, as they test only a limited selection of models. (In fact, very few compared to the many possible suitable kits.)

For instance, a particular board model might appear to list just three or four models—such as 2x16GB 6000MT/s G.Skill memory. However, G.Skill, which conducts far more comprehensive testing (and also maintains detailed compatibility lists for their own products), could actually identify ten or fifteen kits that meet the same requirements.

Similarly, PCPP does not evaluate any kits for a specific board beyond confirming the correct memory type (DDR, SODIMM) such as DDR4 or DDR5. Personally, I’ve heard from several sources that Pangoly’s information is unreliable, though this is just rumors. I don’t regularly visit their site, and it seems unlikely I’ll ever do so, since PCPP appears to offer more thorough filtering and accuracy, regardless of QVL usage.

I always suggest consulting the memory manufacturers’ compatibility lists. That’s why, unless I can verify independently from reliable users, I prefer G.Skill, Corsair, and Crucial—manufacturers known for complete and accurate compatibility data across all major boards.

Thank you for the details. Your insights were helpful, though the Pangoly page does suggest you should verify further.

There is also a "Reverse" search option for RAM compatibility. Most serious RAM manufacturers have or can offer compatibility for their products to various MBs and systems. It's even more detailed than MB QVLs.
For example
https://www.crucial.com/upgrades

The only memory makers with a detailed, tested memory per motherboard catalog I’m aware of, and previously mentioned, are G.Skill, Crucial, and Corsair. If you have information about other companies that provide verified memory lists tailored to specific motherboards, please share it. This would be helpful since I haven’t encountered any alternatives yet—either they’re very specialized or the list is only recently available.
