I made a new installation in a Cooler Master NR200P enclosure. Many users have added an internal sensor panel inside the PSU housing. After some troubleshooting, I discovered that touching the HDMI cable to the internal display while connecting it to the GPU causes a short circuit, cutting power. Removing the HDMI connection restores power and normal operation. I've seen similar setups on PCPartPicker and Reddit, so it seems feasible. I'm unsure why this is happening—perhaps the standoffs or cable connections are misaligned. I considered using plastic or rubber standoffs instead of metal ones. Another thought was that I might have ordered a 5-pin USB power cable for the display, missing the 9-pin header, which could affect signal integrity. It's possible this is causing the issue. I've just switched to the correct 9-pin cable now, but it's still worth checking standoff placement and connections. Build Photos Internal Sensor Panel Display

It might just be the wrong adapter you're using. Let's make sure everything is secure. Is the PCB making contact with any metal components?

The barriers are stopping the PCB from making contact with anything, which seems clear from what I understand. I shared pictures of the display's installation inside the PSU enclosure—maybe you notice something I missed?

Checks if it functions properly without the internal screen attached. Confirms performance without a 90-degree adapter. Explores alternative cable options.

I can attempt it without the screen mounted to check for differences; it's quite challenging to take apart, but that's what I expect from an ITX build. I might also test using the USB cable that came with it and connect it to an external port to see if it helps. Also tried two different slim HDMI cables, both gave the same outcome. I plan to try the 9-pin cable once it arrives and will update once I can test them.

When fixing issues, it helps to narrow down potential reasons. At the moment I think the screen or the connection might be the problem.

Start with a basic USB cable inside the case to test. If issue changes, remove it and check again. If not, try HDMI.

Sure, I also tested two slim HDMI cables and got the same outcome each time. Moving forward, I'll go through those steps again and share my findings.

The issue has been fixed. The problem was related to the USB header power cable. It might have been due to its pin configuration or a defect in the cable itself. Using the 9-pin version resolved the issue and everything is functioning properly now.
