There are many options available for arch-based systems. I’ve explored Archman Linux, EndeavourOS, Manjaro Linux, and CachyOS. I tried EndeavourOS and Manjaro, but haven’t used CachyOS yet. Looking forward to your thoughts!

Was there anything you missed or did not like with Endeavour and Manjaro? I do not use it anymore but in my opinion there is nothing wrong with Endeavour or reasons to use any of the others, unless there is something especially lucrative for you. Side note I do not think anyone should use Manjaro, there are no advantages to it anymore and it has been way to unstable. Either go for Endeavour or base Arch.

I've used it before and I strongly suggest it. If you dislike systemd, consider trying Artix Linux.

It seems you're questioning why we don't rely solely on Arch. The setup is actually quite straightforward, with plenty of detailed instructions available on the wiki.

It’s pleasant yet simple, but installing the needed tools can be slow. EOS or cachyOS already have most components ready.

Use the command archinstall to obtain an installation interface. Desktop environments include the essential tools without unnecessary additions.

EndeavourOS stands out as my top choice. A solid Arch-based distribution closely aligned with Arch itself, with just a few adjustments and extra customization. While installing Arch is now straightforward thanks to the built-in script, you might still need to tweak things later—like adding printer support. With EndeavourOS, you can enable features such as printing directly within the installer, saving time. It’s a minor detail for some, but others may find it important to set everything up quickly.

I've tried both EndeavourOS and the standard Arch Linux, and I enjoy both. I'd suggest choosing EndeavourOS if you don't want to deal with all the setup hassles mentioned by GoatedPenguin.

During installation with archinstall and selecting KDE, essential features were absent such as system tray icons for network and battery status. Looking back, I’d have liked to have installed EndeavorOS instead, even though I eventually reached my goal.

Thank you all for your thoughtful responses and sharing your insights. It’s a wonderful experience exchanging ideas and knowledge. I’m really pleased – it’s a valuable resource for both ideas and learning. Everyone here has been very supportive, which makes it even better. Your suggestions and tips mean a lot, and I appreciate the encouragement. I also came across an interesting summary on Arch-based Linux distributions that might be useful: Top Arch-based User Friendly Linux Distributions. The comparison to other distros is helpful too. I’m excited to keep this forum vibrant and share these resources. Best regards!
