Ouch? Did you check your options before purchasing? https://www.techspot.com/review/2424-asr...oard-fail/ Anyway, try the USB flash drive in another port. Many boards now have a dedicated slot, but honestly if everything is built right and the drive is made properly, it shouldn’t matter. I’d just return the board and get something else. Your choice was really poor in my opinion—TechSpot wouldn’t waste effort to damage a manufacturer’s product unless they truly needed to warn people.

It seems the file might be incomplete or missing some parts. The presence of an autorun.inf and a 4GB drive doesn't necessarily indicate a problem, but double-checking the contents could help confirm.

the windows file is 4gb and my flash drive holds 16gb. edit: i also tried using rufus but it didn’t work, so i’m giving up on this again. i made a small change instead of sticking with the asrock logo, then i got a blue screen. now i see the windows logo again, but it freezes for about two minutes before showing a plain blue screen. edited February 11, 2023 by Cautzar

Confirm all files are on the USB stick. You noted some were missing, which is an issue. Make sure everything is copied correctly so it works.

Yes, you can attempt to install Windows 7 and later upgrade it to Windows 10, but it depends on your system's compatibility and the steps you follow.

I’m not completely certain, but I’d expect you to go through the entire path—seven to eight steps, then ten, eleven onward. If your PC is set up properly and that’s confirmed, just re-format the USB thumb drive again and clear everything from it. Reuse the media tools and follow the steps closely. Make sure the drive is formatted correctly before adding the Windows files. You can find plenty of online guides explaining this process, then simply run the installer once more; it should work unless something went wrong during setup.
