I could offer you a warm hug for being a top-rated rant and frustration translator.

My OS runs on an SSD. I don’t know how much time they’ve lasted. It seems to be a standard type.

Microsoft conducts quality assurance, focusing mainly on removing Software Developer roles from testing (SDTs). In short, SDTs are responsible for creating tests to validate each developer’s functions. This process is now recognized in the industry as unit and component testing. Typically, these tasks fall to developers themselves. Microsoft initially lagged in adopting this approach. The benefit of this newer method is faster feature development. Developers no longer need to coordinate with other teams or spend time explaining complex functions in documentation. The drawback is that it depends heavily on individual developers’ skills in writing both quality code and effective tests. QC roles are rarely advertised on Microsoft’s official sites because the company tends to assign them only to positions it values most. Historically, QC responsibilities have been outsourced to third parties. There are reports of poor working environments in some organizations that prioritize profit over employee well-being. I remember hearing about issues during the Win7 era. Microsoft has since taken steps to prevent similar situations with partners, though there’s little public confirmation. The company’s reputation improved after Vista’s release, thanks to technical upgrades like better GPU handling and driver updates. Windows 7 also introduced stricter file storage rules and multi-user support, which helped reduce some problems. In essence, programs now have clearer guidelines on where they can operate, moving away from arbitrary installation permissions. However, developers still bear the responsibility for ensuring their work meets quality standards.
