I own a Chinese X79 motherboard, which tends to have an inaccurate VRM sensor. I rely on a thermometer to check the heatsink temperature. While the MOSFETs get much hotter than the heatsink, I’m curious—what’s the safe temperature if my VRM heatsink reads around 45°C?
VRMs typically manage up to 100°C, making 45°C a safe range. If they overheat, they usually reduce power or may stop completely.
It might be an outside temperature during summer, but this could endanger the board.
