Packet loss at 3% with 30% spikes.
The issue began about two weeks ago. I experienced packet loss ranging from 2% to 30% every few seconds while playing games. Even after switching to a wired connection and using my laptop, the problem persisted. When I checked my router's ping stats, it showed no loss (0%) and very low round-trip times. I also tested reaching 8.8.8.8, which had a 3% loss but still responded well. My tracert for 8.8.8.8 revealed minimal delays and no significant issues.
I tried PingPlotter Pro 5 on both my PC with Wi-Fi and my laptop with a wired connection, and the outcomes were consistent. The loss percentages were low, and response times remained stable.
It seems the problem might be related to my ISP or router configuration. I’m unsure why .de appears in the logs. I recommend reaching out to my internet service provider for further assistance.
Have you attempted to reboot your router or verify its wiring?
Of course, it's the simplest solution that works. It's every time like this. Thank you for this answer! One little question, do you have an idea why pingplotter still shows 47% packet loss even if there is no overall PL?
I haven't used Ping Plotter before, so I can't confirm. I'd test it on another computer and compare the outcomes. Disconnect some devices from the network to see if results change. Possible causes for heavy packet loss include devices sending too many packets or failing hardware.
