So I really aim to play Gw2 but over the years my ISP (which is pretty unreliable) has provided us with poor modems (DSL) or sometimes just doesn’t work at all. And unfortunately, that’s the situation in this rural area. My concern is whether my frequent disconnections with Gw2—and others—might be due to an unstable wireless connection, or if it’s something else entirely. I’m considering switching to a wired connection, which is usually the better option. That said, should I try playing Gw2 and other games that might cause this issue, or am I just trying without any real purpose?

WoW, CoD, and other games I’ve played for 18 years with this ISP don’t seem to cause this problem. To be honest, it’s mostly been MMOs, especially Guild Wars 2.

Any advice would be appreciated. As I mentioned before, this seems to be a common issue with bad modems, according to forums, Reddit, and YouTube. They mention packet loss, so I’m wondering how my Ethernet connection would affect me. Thanks!

I just realized that the "might" could indicate a network problem instead of PC gaming. If that's the case, please move it. Thanks.
