Packaging a Motherboard Safely – Shipping Advice
You should send it using the proper shipping method. Since you can’t use your regular retail packaging and Asus won’t accept it back, consider using a sturdy ESD-safe bag to protect the components during transit.
Choose the tiniest container possible and cover it generously with bubble wrap. A half roll usually works well.
Also verify the socket shielding on the CPU socket—this plastic component keeps pins secure and prevents damage during transport.
I just received my Asus board in the original box, but it’s warped from bubble wrap. The packaging looked great—perfect size and secure—but since they’re using FedEx, I’m worried about any issues. Haha. Also, consider asking ASUS for a shipping label via email. They already sent one. Better luck next time!
I received it via email because I requested it. It’s free, though I’m based in the US. The nearest repair center is in Canada, so I’m uncertain about shipping there. I’d call a manager to inquire. They should be able to get it free. I wouldn’t pay for international shipping since they’ll just send a replacement because I verified everything was fine and it’s definitely defective. It’s already dead, so no chance of fixing it. Haha. Shipped today doesn’t matter if they’re honest.
