I just upgraded my rig with a 980ti and want to dive into some gaming. I feel like I've been playing the same games and am craving something new that will really impress me. I already own Witcher 3, GTA 5, Skyrim, Diablo 3, Bf4, and StarCraft 2. My goal is to find must-play titles that complete my collection (there’s definitely more out there). Since I’m using an ultrawide monitor, I’d like games optimized for that format. Fallout 4 comes to mind, though it only supports a 16:9 aspect ratio. I’m also looking for a title that can fully utilize my 980ti processor.
These games aren't overly intense, but they're enjoyable. You'll also enjoy Rocket League, Stardew Valley, and Lego games.
They're playing Star Citizen and the Titanfall 2 single-player campaign.
The Half-Life lineup and Portal 1 & 2, Rocket League are all enjoyable options.
Forza Horizon 3, Just Cause 3, NFS2015 – car handling feels terrible in this version.
The game offers expansive spaces with mostly open travel paths, though you must progress along a structured narrative. It isn’t strictly linear, but certain sections will demand upgraded gear later, giving a gentle push to revisit earlier parts. I’d advise against becoming overly attached to every title that supports open worlds. There’s value in the tight, intentional design found in more traditional linear experiences. The collection features some exceptional open-world titles, yet many fall short. My suggestions might lean toward less mainstream options, so consider exploring further. On a new PC, I’d definitely include Dark Souls (III), the Deus Ex series, Metro Redux, Rimworld, Cities: Skylines, Dishonored, and updated XCOM games with mods. Nier: Automata has also become increasingly appealing to me recently.
