Hey! I’m trying to figure out the simplest way to stream Overwatch at 144fps with 1080p using the lowest settings. I’ve got no idea how streaming actually works or what you’d typically need. Thanks!

What choices do you have? Aim for the most affordable solution while avoiding unnecessary trade-offs.

The typical 1080p capture card costs around $100. For example, the Elgato Game Capture HD60 is priced near $160.

Avoid lowering the frame rate to 60 without a reason. It doesn’t add value and can hurt viewer experience. YouTube may allow it, but high quality isn’t the main draw. For stable streaming, you need at least four cores (like a Ryzen 5 or i7) and a GPU that boosts FPS by 50-100%. Tools like Relive or ShadowPlay can help. At 1080p60, you’ll need a upload speed of 15 Mbps or more. Capture cards alone don’t encode unless they have the right chip; if unsure, it might be the one you’re thinking of. Generally, just using a capture card isn’t enough.
