Hi, I upgraded my GPU to a 3080 Ti from an MSI 1080 Ti and noticed frame drops in Overwatch. That’s puzzling since I didn’t experience them with my 1080 Ti. Could someone help me? Here are my specs: i9-10850K, 4.8GHz, 32GB DDR4, 3200MHz, ASUS Strix 3080 Ti HX1000i.

The drops are quite severe. FPS changes often. Have you performed a fresh uninstall before installing the drivers for your new graphics card?

The drivers you were using with the GTX 1080Ti are quite old. This could mean limited support or optimization for the newer RTX 3080Ti. Perform a clean removal of the graphics drivers. You can use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) and carry out the clean uninstall in Safe Mode.

Always obtain the newest drivers from nVidia's GeForce site rather than ASUS or AIB. These are typically Day 0 releases. According to version 466.63 release notes, it’s difficult to confirm if ASUS drivers interfere with the official nVidia drivers you installed. If using DDU, consider uninstalling everything to start fresh.

Yes, you can try repairing it without risking total loss. Look for safe troubleshooting steps or contact support for guidance.

What is this about? Find out what DDU stands for. Removing graphics card drivers won’t ruin or erase your whole computer. A clean install means we’re not reinstalling Windows, just replacing the graphics driver files.
