I played Overwatch recently and it seems I might be hooked. The game is trying to prevent excessive play by making matchmaking harder. Often it takes a long time to find a partner and then I end up in a skirmish over an actual match. Do you know any way to speed up the matchmaking so I can play more rounds? Also, would it help if more players stayed in the lobby instead of leaving quickly?

Joining a team could be a better option. I think there are some members here who have discussions about that.

How extended are your delays? I usually face waits of around two minutes, though they rarely last significantly longer.

When the queue lasts over a minute, I usually stop and resend it. I don’t understand why it helps, but it seems to speed things up in the game.

I usually wait around 1 hour and 30 minutes, then attempt to requeue, but I often end up in a skirmish. Usually I manage a match within 30 seconds once the game begins, though getting later matches is tough.

The 1:30 feels typical for me.

It varies based on your position. I tested with the top 500 early in the day and it was slow.

You've just completed the game and are currently at level 4. It's possible your performance will improve with more matches.

Review game options, perhaps adjusting the server. I experienced lengthy wait times in Rainbow Six Siege before switching to the East US server, which greatly improved performance.
