I usually play Overwatch on my PC, but during setup I was wrong about the i5 6600K being enough. It’s running at about 90% CPU usage and only delivering 90 to 110 frames. My 1070 GPU is hitting the 35% threshold. What processor should I upgrade to reach full 144Hz and support max settings in Overwatch and other Blizzard titles?
All Zen+ and Zen 2 CPUs perform smoothly at 144 FPS with minimal load, provided you have six cores and twelve threads.
Something off there. I just upgraded from an i5 4690k + R9 390 and that pushed Overwatch at a solid 120-144, depending what refresh I have my panel at. (I'd set it for 120hz while streaming to keep the math simple for 30/60 Fps streams & playback recordings) Your hardware should easily do that, especially for Overwatch.
