Checked the details of the G2A key page. This appears to be a key for Windows 8 Pro, 32-bit or 64-bit, available globally. It doesn’t seem to require prior Windows installation. Good option if you’re planning a future PC and want to save money.

Get the Windows 8/8.1 upgrade installer from the official site. If the site rejects it initially, attempt to download an ISO for Windows 8/8.1 Pro, install it using a KMS key available on Microsoft's page (these keys let you install without a key), and then activate the key within Windows.

I also have a query about where to obtain Windows. My PC is brand new and hasn’t had any software installed yet, and the official site asks if I already have Windows installed before proceeding with an upgrade.
