I'm experiencing an issue with my CPU, showing abnormal high temperatures. Currently it reads 73.5°C when idle. That's quite high, and despite enabling energy-saving mode via the Armoury Crate, the temperature rises to 90°C. I've recently updated the BIOS to the latest version. The system started heating up significantly. Could you please check my PC specifications?

Case: Lian o11 Dynamic
Top: AIO on exhaust; Sides/Bottom: Intake Motherboard: ASUS X670e-Pro WiFi RAM: G.Skill Trident Z 4x16GB 6400MHz (note MHz isn't relevant) AIO: Arctic Freezer 360 GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3080 Ti PSU: Corsair 1200W

Probable cause points to the cooler mount.

This indicates the device is securely mounted directly onto the CPU.

Insufficient thermal paste application, failure to take off the label at the base, and insufficient tightening of screws for optimal contact.

Is it okay with the thermal paste condition?

It doesn’t seem like the cooler looks good enough to have led to such high temperatures. Check the sticker at the bottom of the cooler and confirm the brackets are properly seated. (It’s probably not the cooler or CPU itself, just how they’re mounted.)

Confirmed, it seems the screws for your AIO aren't long enough. You can still push the AIO a bit further.

Search within the box for brackets, retention bars, or similar elements.

Are you certain the cooler block is positioned correctly according to the manual? It might help to review the installation instructions once more and then reinstall everything. It doesn’t seem like a major issue, but the amount of paste visible in your photo is unusual.

The issue is that you cannot remove the backplate.
