they’re still fans, they can push hard, but the issue is why it’s overheating.

I found out what a blower style card does, and it matches exactly what I have. I plan to boost my fan settings and accept the extra noise. It seems the original default fan level was too low, which caused the temperature to trigger the emergency fan earlier.

I've heard them at full volume and I'd like to hear my thoughts clearly. You're right about using them more often to check for stable temperatures. Honestly, I didn't notice high temps because I was using the default fan settings with minimal noise. But since I hadn't checked the temps before, they might have stayed elevated unnoticed. Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah they are common in compact pre-builts and I know at least one other person on this forum with the same card as me who had the same problem, but he replaced his thermal pads. Trouble is what he used seem hard to find in the UK so I'm not going to worry about, so long its not doing that 100% thing it should mean the temps while high are safe. Yeah its basically a hair dryer at 100%, its obvious why they locked it to 50% as its pretty much silent to that point, starts to be noticeable at 60% and starts to get a lot louder as you go above that. At 100% its annoying even from another room.

I’m not very familiar with tech jargon (just a bit more than the average person) and I haven’t heard of undervolting, but I’ll look into it and keep it in mind!

It's mainly the stock vBIOS that caps at 50%, and these graphics are excessively noisy at full power, even from another room. The issue seems similar to mine—the VRM pads have dried out. My unit was okay when I first bought it but developed problems months later after leaving it folded for a month. It would have taken even longer under heavy gaming, but the problem would eventually occur. These cards ran too hot for the pads to last past warranty before issues appeared.

I’m not very familiar with computer parts, but does the small square area you found inside your GPU near the chip with the thermal paste sound like the right spot? I’m really impressed I managed to replace it and keep everything working, but if that’s the pad you’re referring to, I’d better know its location now. Haha!

Suggest using thermal pads with identical thickness, similar to the reference edition 2080 which measures approximately 0.5 and 1mm.

I'll examine this next and locate the appropriate replacement pad, thank you for the details!

Thank you to all who assisted me with this matter. It turns out I was unaware that using a wide screen monitor to play Lost Ark would push my card to 1440p, which only supports around 60 fps. I’m sorry I missed this earlier—hope you understand. Appreciate your help and apologies for the oversight.
