I responded. I think the BIOS had an unusual fan curve issue, and the update resolved it. Elephants

It's likely okay. The processor will power down when it hits 100°C to avoid harm.

During BIOS updates, especially on desktops or laptops like HP models, the system often reverts to default settings and can't access earlier saved profiles because they're outdated. It seems clearing the CMOS might have resolved the issue for you.

It’s unlikely to happen during those short periods at high temperatures, as modern devices typically switch to thermal protection quickly. The engineers designed the system to limit clock speeds when overheating occurs, which also causes automatic shutdowns until the issue is resolved.
