I recently upgraded my Asus ROG G20 with a WD Black, and it’s performing great. As a YouTuber, I often push my rig to its limits during editing, which affects performance. I think overheating might be the issue, but I don’t have any proof. Should I be concerned? If so, what actions should I take to keep it cool?

I’d rather skip installing any programs to monitor my CPU temperatures. I’m a tidy person who prefers not to use unnecessary software. Even if the system isn’t overheating (which I’m pretty sure it is), it wouldn’t hurt to keep things running cooler.

Sure, I can do that. Let's see what we have.

You can skip installing any monitoring software and instead check the panels directly to see if the CPU is throttling. Using HWInfo64 would simplify tracking without needing thermal sensors.

I understand, I don’t need a exact solution—just a simple way to lower the temperature. If you’re unsure, try turning off any nearby devices, using a fan, or adjusting settings that generate heat. Let me know if you need more tips!

I’m considering what to do next. I should clean it up and reapply a new coating. These tasks haven’t likely been done in over five years with regular use.

Absolutely, that's the simplest approach. Just disassemble it, eliminate any debris, and apply fresh thermal grease.

I'm really frustrated with this situation. I'll seek assistance from others instead.
