I'm experiencing multiple problems that complicate accurate diagnosis. My CPU stays hot beyond normal levels, often causing thermal throttling on my desktop and consistently in games. Running heavy tasks like Cinebench R23 leads to crashes or BSODs. DX12 games suddenly stop, so I must switch to DX11 for playability. Occasionally, some games warn me about insufficient virtual memory, preventing them from launching. My system's memory doesn't function properly with the X.M.P profile 1, though it works with profile 2. There are sporadic random shutdowns, BSODs, and hard restarts from a black screen. Additionally, my RGB display is nearly unresponsive except for the RAM area. Attached logs from Task Manager, HWinfo64, and Intel XTU show system readings while idle, confirming the instability. Windows 10 Home 64-bit Prime Z690-P (BIOS 2404) runs with a slightly undervolted CPU capped at 90°C, but issues persist even at default settings. I have two 16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM sticks (6000MHz, X.M.P profile 2) and a ROG Strix 4070ti with Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, Seagate IronWolf 12TB, Corsair RM850x 850W, and a Grizzly case fan.

Notified about some key points: 1. Ensure 980pro firmware is current to avoid self-destruction from outdated versions. Use Samsung magician for updates; outdated firmware may trigger issues. 2. Poor CPU-to-cooler contact is likely due to LGA1700 socket design. Install a contact frame to improve heat transfer. Temperatures may drop noticeably, around 10-15°C below ambient. 3. Random crashes often stem from RAM problems. Resetting to default settings (no XMP) might help. Overheating the CPU can lead to unusual behavior, though RGB status isn't clear.

Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. I understand your concerns. After reviewing, it seems the issue might still be related to the stock RAM profile and the AIO pump setup. I haven’t seen any recent updates that would address this, and the temperature issues persist even with different thermal compounds. I appreciate your patience and will keep an eye on this.

Sockets and CPU blocks are designed with some flexibility. A slight curvature in either part can lead to a bad fit. Watch a clip showing the socket bending a CPU for reference. If surfaces aren’t perfectly aligned, it’s likely due to inadequate coolant flow or air movement through the radiator. One factor is usually the culprit. Test your CPU block base using a light and a straight edge—like a utility knife blade—to see if light passes through the center. If it does, the base is curved. For coolant issues, visual inspection is needed; fans must be oriented correctly and spinning at the proper speed.

The guidance is greatly appreciated. I'm placing an order for a replacement RMA with Corsair and allocating funds for an upgraded RMA to swap out my AIO. I'll verify the CPU's concavity during the replacement process. If it turns out to be extremely concave, similar to the example in the linked Reddit thread, should I return my CPU to Intel? Thank you again for your assistance!

It’s not the processor, it’s the connection point. Various models are adding significant bends to the CPU, while others handle it fine. It looks like a matter of chance.

Consider addressing the issue with your motherboard first.

They won<|pad|> can’t provide you with an RMA since the official note says it’s not an issue…but it is. The contact frame I mentioned resolves the matter.

This situation is quite frustrating. It seems the issue might not be limited to just CPU cooling, as I'm questioning whether it's related to other factors. My previous experiences with DX12 and UE games have shown similar crashes, like the ones seen in Cinebench R23. Some titles, such as Deep Rock Galactic, only work after launching once or twice, while others like Predecessor cause strange visual errors and crashes on repeated attempts. The error message I'm seeing is quite specific, pointing to a kernel issue.

Open the Event Viewer and navigate to Windows Logs -> System. Check for any errors or critical events present.
