I was playing the new Rainbow Six Siege when my computer overheated and shut down. I went to clean it out, unplugging the power cord. I forgot to turn off the outlet, so when I removed the cord I saw sparks and heard a buzzing noise from the power supply. I'm worried it might damage the PC if I turn it on, so I need help with this issue.

What kind of sparks? Where precisely? Many people don't turn off the PSU switch or cut power when unplugging or plugging it in. Occasionally, a crackling noise occurs when reconnecting the cable. Unless it was a demonstration, it should be okay.

It seems you experienced static on the system and noticed sparks when connecting the ground wire with the power cord. That’s normal and shouldn’t cause issues. Many people overlook that the proper grounding only happens when the power cord is connected.
