Hey guys, I attempted to overclock my Xeon using SetFSB and WR-Everything. I understand the Pll settings and which byte to adjust, and it works fine when I slightly increase the value (around 5 points). However, if I push the change too much, the PC tends to freeze. Can anyone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong? I know serverboards aren't built for overclocking, but I'm trying to get this running. Thanks for any advice!

The issue is that you're not increasing the voltage to enable further overclocking. If you manage to control the voltage with RW settings, then you'll be successful. The unlocked CPUs also allow adjusting the voltage, so for a strong overclock you need cooling, voltage, and FSB/Multiplier. I arranged them in that sequence for a reason. These CPUs don't use volts directly but rather current. Check forums to see how others describe it.

You won't make progress with that, it wasn't designed for OC.

Some T3500 models were built without any original content, and you won't see any recent Radeon GPUs. The Dell BIOS screen will also not appear.
Check the link for details: http://www.userbenchmark.com/System/Dell...500--/2522
Oops spoke too soon. here it is. W3690 @ 4GHz.

Do you have a six-core CPU? If not, I recommend a 4-core X5687, which is often available for $40 to $50 and works well with these T3500 models. The RX 480 also fits this setup.

Jaslion:
Erebos7777777 shared their experience trying to boost their Xeon using SetFSB and WR-Everything. They mentioned knowing the PLL and which byte to adjust, but only succeeded with minor changes. Increasing the adjustment caused the system to freeze. Anyone have insights on what might be going wrong? I understand serverboards aren’t built for overclocking, but I’m eager to try. Appreciate any advice.

With some modifications, you can achieve a slight overclock with the T3500, though the risk of damaging the board is very high.

Hey Susquehannock,
Thanks for your reply! Could you clarify what kind of modification you’re referring to?

t3500 isn't meant for overclocking! The BIOS doesn't allow overclocks. No voltage control available. Still, you can slightly overclock, around 100mhz.
