I recently assembled a new gaming/workstation setup and encountered some issues. Not being very comfortable with computers, I thought this place would help. Whenever I try to overclock my CPU or GPU, the system responds with "overclocked settings did not work, reverting back to defaults." For example, if I slightly increase my CPU's overclock and then restart, it tells me to go back to the default settings.

Not a Ryzen enthusiast, but I've heard it's a good idea to refresh your bios when using Ryzen processors since many of the ones that came with them have some issues. You might consider updating them... Adam

what oc settings are you using for your cpu? I've been adjusting it from 3.7ghz to 3.8ghz so far, and the same applies to my gpu, where I've only done minor overclocking.

Ok... Not someone from the Ryzen world, but I've heard that updating the BIOS is important when using Ryzen components because many of the included ones have minor issues... Maybe I'll attempt to flash the BIOS...

Adam
As mentioned, flash to the most recent BIOS and then try again.
