Hi everyone, I experienced a month without power on my PC and it didn’t boot after restarting. After some troubleshooting, I found that it started working again once I turned off both RAM XMP and CPU overclocks. It only responded when I applied just the CPU overclock and disabled XMP. This suggests a problem with the RAM handling higher voltages. I’m using the standard XMP setting, but lowered it to 3866MHz from its default 4000MHz because my motherboard only supports that speed. The XMP settings changed slightly, but the RAM still didn’t respond unless XMP was enabled. It seems the RAM might be struggling to maintain this overclock at that voltage. I’m wondering if it’s safe to increase the speed a bit more to see if it stabilizes without causing damage. Please advise before I proceed. Thanks!

Test each RAM stick using xmp to identify any faulty module. If neither works, you likely have two defective units. I also experienced the same problem with my RAM (purchased used, a beginner error, both failed, so I ran them at 2133).

Your device functioned properly with XMP for nearly a year. If it fails due to XMP issues, you may be eligible to file a warranty claim.

Did you check them one at a time first? They should come with a lifetime warranty, but if not, the performance gap is almost imperceptible, which isn't too bad.

It looks like the issue might be with the motherboard itself. The specs say it supports up to 3866MHz, but it’s now working at 3600MHz after you adjusted the settings. Even though it was fine at 3866MHz for a long time, there could be a problem with the hardware.

Your RAM is working properly. 3600mhz is sufficient, and the difference between 3600 and 3866mhz is minimal. You should be okay.
