I understand it may seem odd, but I’m almost sure now – after pushing my CPU to higher speeds, my performance in FPS games dropped significantly (shots that should land just didn’t register). I’ve tried this a few times and am convinced that when I overclock my CPU (Ryzen 1700 at 3.8ghz), the shots I fire won’t register properly. It’s strange, but I’m pretty sure about it. I felt it before, but it didn’t make sense to me – like the overclocking somehow affected the game detection. How is this even possible?

It happens in all games, especially noticeable in Overwatch. Do you think I might be experiencing something unusual? Even though I’ve tested it and when my CPU isn’t overclocked, the shots still hit, but after overclocking they sometimes do register. It’s confusing!

gtx 1080
gsync 2560x1440 144hz monitor
r7 1700
2x8 300mhz corsair vengeance
thanks, if anyone can help me see what I’m doing wrong, I’d really appreciate it.

I conducted various tests to ensure the stability of your overclock. Regarding performance metrics, your CPU temperature and speed during gaming remain consistent as specified.

Could it be that your local play affects the situation? Perhaps your OC is disrupting your link.

while gaming at 3.79ghz, temperature stays around 50 degrees (stable).
aida64, prime, the usual stuff
I don’t play anything locally, so I can’t confirm.
Update: it might be related to the ram boosting (around 3000mhz~).
When the bios restarts to basics, the ram boosting also resets, which is why I didn’t notice it before. Does it make sense that increasing ram usage affects everything I mentioned earlier? And if so, what’s the reason behind it?
